ACCOUNTING FOR
NON-ACCOUNTANTS
COURSE OUTLINE

basic financial statements. If you can follow a recipe or apply for a loan, you can learn basic accounting. The basics aren’t
difficult and they aren’t rocket science.
Accounting is defined as the art of recording, classifying, and summarizing in a significant
manner and in terms of money transactions and events which are in part at least, of a financial character, and interpreting
the result thereof. It provides a vital service "by supplying the information that decision makers need to make reasoned choices
among alternative uses of scarce resources…" It is important for every key person of a business to understand
and interpret the products of the accounting process known as financial statements.
